Best Restaurants in Winter Garden

One of the finest, most reasonable of reasons to consider purchasing a piece of prime Winter Garden real estate might be for the restaurants surrounding this central Florida city, especially if you consider yourself a foodie at heart.

Less than 15 miles from downtown Orlando, Winter Garden is a great place to find high-end restaurants that are ideal for date nights, business luncheons, or nights out with friends. Outside of the traffic and population of larger cities, in many cases, these luxurious restaurants might be less busy – and perhaps more personable — because they have more time to spend on their customers.

If you’re touring the most luxurious homes for sale in Winter Garden available – whether that means traditional, Mediterranean-inspired, or contemporary abodes located on the shores of Lake Osceola – it would be worth checking out some of these fantastic restaurants when it comes time to take a respite for a bite to eat. Any choice could easily cement your decision to put down some roots in the Orange County community of Winter Garden.

Read on for a list of some of the best restaurants in the Winter Garden area to keep you hunger-free!

The phenomenal Chef’s Table is found in the Edgewater Hotel. The restaurant features a three-course menu, each with three or four equally enticing options, whether you want a seafood-forward meal to take advantage of the region or feel inclined to try something different, such as char-grilled filet with beet risotto. Desserts include passion fruit cheesecake or the chef’s sorbet of choice, among others. Each item also includes complementary wine pairings.

The Tasting Room

99 W Plant St, Winter Garden

The Tasting Room is another local hot spot found at the Edgewater Hotel. The menu features longtime fan favorites with vibrant twists, such as Creole-style shrimp and grits, Dutch baby with duck confit, and other flavor-packed menu items. The desserts here are utterly charming and come jarred, making them a playful end to a dining experience that falls only half a star short of a five-star meal, based on consumer reviews.

It doesn’t really matter much where your family’s culinary roots are from because this highly esteemed Winter Garden restaurant has you covered, no matter what your tastes are. A family-owned restaurant known for its German-style grill and prime aged Angus beef, Mathew's Steakhouse has a menu that travels to several European nations, bringing back the best flavors from each of those regions. Appetizers include tomato carpaccio from Italy, while soups are French onion side-by-side with goulash, a traditional Hungarian dish. Steaks are grilled over a cherry and oak open flame and are available in a wide range of succulent cuts.

Market to Table

146 W Plant St Suite 140, Winter Garden

This downtown spot is one of the best restaurants in Winter Garden and features elevated American classics. Market to Table not only has an expansive and interesting drink menu, but it also offers items for the table, such as a decked-out seafood tower and a charcuterie board, among other appetizer-style options. Entrees include filet mignon with demi-glace and potato puree. Chef Ryan Freelove spent two years training in Europe after graduating from the Pennsylvania Institute of Culinary Arts, and his menu reflects those worldly experiences.

Rosallie Winter Garden

141 W Plant St, Winter Garden

The French-inspired restaurant Rosallie Winter Garden is designed to bring to mind a European atmosphere, not only in the restaurant’s design but also in the food it offers. Rosallie Winter Garden offers brunch all day, with quiche, smoked salmon, brioche, and poached eggs playing starring roles in many of the restaurant’s complex dishes.

STK Steakhouse

Not far from Winter Garden (about an 18-mile drive) is the STK Steakhouse, an Orlando-based gastronomical dream with Wagyu beef and dry-aged Delmonico as well as oysters on the half shell with a tart lemon mignonette. If the signature butters are not enough to draw you back (truffle, lobster, and wagyu umami are among the options), the STK Steakhouse features fantastic entrees, such as mushroom and truffle tagliatelle and Maine lobster linguini, for those who don’t find themselves in the mood for a great steak. The restaurant’s classic vibe is enhanced by a power lunch menu, highlighted by tuna tartare tacos with Hass avocado for creaminess.

Christner’s Prime Steak and Lobster

Also in Orlando, Christner's Prime Steak and Lobster is an award-winning restaurant with a classic menu and private rooms. Highlights include the USDA prime filet trio with peppercorn gravy, a French Bearnaise sauce, and buttery, roasted Chateau potatoes. The dessert list, of course, includes a decadent Florida key lime pie.

The Southern on 8th Kitchen and Bar

801 W Montrose St, Clermont

Still just about 20 miles outside of Winter Garden is The Southern on 8th, a Clermont-based establishment with a made-from-scratch menu featuring southern favorites with contemporary revisions. Bourbon fans will love the extensive list of Kentucky-made bourbons, with flights available if you cannot choose your favorite form of imbibement. Craft cocktails and other beer and liquors are also on the drink menu.

When it comes to food, the menu sticks to its southern roots and offers Creole dishes, but an updated low country boil is turned into a pappardelle dish, and buttermilk southern fried chicken is available in Nashville hot, a modern take on classic fried chicken.

The Ravenous Pig

565 W Fairbanks Ave, Winter Park

If you can make the 30-minute trek to Winter Park, this innovative gastropub features beautifully plated entrees, appetizers, and desserts, and also offers a wide range of high-end cocktails, each with a different form of ice to give you the best possible cocktail experience.

Because The Ravenous Pig features a seasonal menu, it changes daily, ensuring that you’ll experience the freshest, most flavorful ingredients available regionally each time you visit. The restaurant is operated by Winter Park natives and husband-and-wife team James and Julie Petrakis, who met while at New York’s Culinary Institute of America and chose to bring their experience and expertise to the place they’ve both known as home.
